This is a quick guide for the most frequent tasks only. Refer to HELP for more information.
█ Request a license ...
- Verify that this machine will actually host the license
- Switch to License tab and click the Request button
- Fill in the administrator and license data
- Click the Generate button to generate the request file content
- Click the Save To File button to save the content to a file
- Email the saved file as an attachment to your reseller or to CAESS support
▲ Important
A license request must be done on the same machine that will actually host the license. Otherwise the license activation will fail.
█ Activate or upgrade the license ...
- Verify that the license request was done from this machine
- Make sure that the license service is not in a running state
- Switch to License tab and click the Activate / Upgrade button to open the open-file dialog
- Point to the license activation file that was delivered to you by the reseller or CAESS and open the file
- Make the license available to client computers
█ Make the license available ...
If the license service is not yet registered:
- Switch to Service tab
- Click the Register button
- Choose whether this computer will provide only local or network licensing
- For network licensing type in the IP address or a fully qualified name of this computer
- Choose the port number used for licensing communication
- Click the Start button
If the license service is already registered:
- Switch to Service tab
- Click the Start button
▲ Important
For network licensing make sure that the license service can be reached from the client machines. If you use a firewall, make
sure to allow the license service application CaessLMSvc.exe to communicate on the used port.
█ View and manage active tokens ...
- Switch to State tab
- If necessary, click the Refresh button to refresh the list of currently active license tokens
- To deactivate an active license token, select the corresponding row and click the Deactivate button
█ Resolve license problems ...
- Verify that this machine actually hosts the problematic license
- Go to Help menu and choose the Request support ... button
- Enter a short description of the problem
- Click the Generate button to generate the request file content
- Click the Save To File button to save the content to a file
- Email the saved file as an attachment to CAESS support
