The preferences in ProTOp are mostly related to various notification options. Namely, topology optimization is computationally a very time consuming cyclic process. Because proper preparation of the optimization model is far from being straightforward, it is recommended to monitor the optimization progress in order to recognize eventual required model changes as early as possible. This is the reason for ProTOp to provide various notification options, including sending of notification emails.
