Topology optimization

This dialog manages the topology optimization process. In ProTOp this process is considered to be a continuous process that can be either in a running or interrupted state.

To run the optimization process ...

1. Set the maximization objective by giving more weight either to stiffness or eigenfrequency. This control is only available if the load cases contain both, stress and eigenfrequency analyses types.

2. Select the target type and set the corresponding value.

3. Set the material redistribution rate and details filtering intensity.

4. Set the minimal requested and maximal allowed number of optimization cycles.

5. Click the Run cycles button.

NOTE. Any of the above settings can be changed interactively at any stage of the optimization process. Changes are effective as of the first subsequent optimization cycle.

To interrupt the optimization process ...

1. Click the Pause cycles button or select the Abort processing command from the drop-down menu.

NOTE. Aborting the optimization process may leave the active session in an ambiguous state with some of the state data files possibly being damaged. Use this option only if absolutely necessary.
