Mesh refinement along surfaces

This dialog handles localized mesh refinement along surfaces. The refinement procedure operates in two separate modes:

To refine the mesh along surfaces ...

1. Select either the

option.

2. Click the Analyze button in order to get the refine region mesh data, most importantly, maximal and average element edge lengths.

3. Examine carefully the reported maximal and average edge lengths; enter the refine parameters: edge subdivide threshold and refine region bandwidth. Edges exhibiting a length above the threshold will be subdivided.

4. Optionally, enter the maximal allowed model increase percentage (a value of zero means there is no limitation).

5. Click the Refine button.

NOTE. Mesh refinement is permanent and can be reversed only by importing the source FEA model again.

IMPORTANT. Mesh refinement might result in slight redistribution of applied loads in some localized regions.
