This dialog provides access to mesh stripping procedures. The mesh is typically stripped in the following situations:

• after completing topology optimization to prepare the model for shape optimization and
• after partial topology optimization to reduce the model size for further topology optimization.

To strip the mesh for shape optimization ...

1. Click the Analyze button.

2. Select the Remove void elements to enable shape optimization option.

3. Optionally, adjust the element cutting precision.

4. Click the Strip button.

To strip the mesh for model reduction ...

1. Click the Analyze button.

2. Select the Remove void elements to reduce model size option.

3. Adjust the removal parameters, especially the material region expansion parameter.

4. Click the Strip button.

NOTE. Mesh stripping is permanent and can be reversed only by importing the source FEA model again.
